Tonky (2007)
Tonky on IMDB: Full video plus cast & crew info. Directed by: Elisabeth Andre/Craig Tollis Geden Baxter is a stranger in a strange land - or perhaps he'd prefer to be rather than thrust into the bosom of his long lost and largely dysfunctional Southern family. A mysterious phone call from his Uncle's attorney in Georgia sends the Los Angeles screenwriter across country in search of his roots in the Deep South. Geden gets both more and less than he bargained for, and comes away with more than a few surprises. Production Notes: Tonky was shot over 3 days in Roswell, Georgia by Scott Hedeen. We used a pair of Sony HVR-Z1U cameras in the HD mode and were very pleased with the performance and picture quality of these inexpensive cameras. Scott's insistence on shooting creative cutaways was a real life-saver in the edit. The project was edited and finished by Craig Tollis on Avid Media Composer. Christopher Bartelski was music producer and edited post-production sound in Protools. Original music for Tonky was composed by Chris (Kudzu 'Round My Heart) and Budd Harbis (Southern Kind). More of Budd's music is available from his web site www.BuddHarbis.com. Triton, the dog who appears as Hooter in the film, is a trained bird hunting dog. This means he is not a trained movie performer dog. It's true what they say about working with children and animals. The producers also wish to express their appreciation to Melita Easters and everyone whose hard work contributed to making this project a success. Tonky was an official selection of the 2009 Wift/a Shorts festival.
